Air Conditioning

Brooktherm Refrigeration can design, supply and install air conditioning equipment across a diverse range of sectors including industrial, commercial, residential, retail and leisure across the UK.

We are in partnership with Mitsubishi and install single split systems right up to major VRF multi systems in offices, we offer a free, no obligation survey, quote and design service.

The most familiar form of installed commercial air conditioning, are split systems, they comprise an indoor unit (mounted on a wall, ceiling or floor) which re-circulates the air in the room, cooling it and heating it to your requirements. The indoor unit is linked to an outdoor unit (condenser), by a pair of small diameter copper pipes contained in an insulating jacket. The heat removed from the room is dissipated to the atmosphere by the outdoor condenser. When heat is required, the system will run in reverse, taking heat from the outdoor condenser and transferring it to the indoor unit.

The multi-split system operates in the same way as the split system and enables a number of indoor units to be individually controlled from a single outdoor condenser. This system offers an ideal way to treat a number of areas whilst minimizing the space required for outdoor units.

Variable Refrigerant Flow systems (VRF) are the most modern and sophisticated development of the split systems. Up to fifty indoor units can be connected to a single large outdoor condenser. The outdoor condenser is constructed to respond proportionately to the number of indoor units operating, each being controlled for heat or cool. This is the ultimate in flexibility. Individual indoor unit temperature can be changed independently, allowing personal choice as indoor and outdoor conditions change. The VRF system offers a year round solution to indoor climate control with unrivalled flexibility and energy efficiency.

Chilled Water Air Conditioning is used mainly on larger buildings, water is chilled to four degrees and pumped to cooling coils while a fan draws air through the chilled water coils, cooling the air. An advantage of a chilled water system is that each room can be cooled individually through one system. If the system breaks, repairs often require only plumbing work. Air Pro has significant experience with chilled water air conditioning.

Requirements

Depending on room size, the number of windows and their direction, the amount of electrical equipment operating in a given room and potential demands for dual heating / cooling, air conditioning systems vary enormously.

An over specified air conditioning / climate control system is an unnecessary expense and an under specified system is a waste of money - our technical team will advise and recommend the perfect system for you.

The ability to control indoor temperatures is critical to almost any business. Your customers and employees rely on you to provide a comfortable environment for them day after day so regular maintenance on your heating and air conditioning is essential.

Maintenance

If you have a high quality, well maintained heating and cooling system in place for your business, you’ll likely never need to worry about a sudden breakdown or a loss of comfort control when you need it most. .Regular preventative maintenance schedules ensure your A/C system is running smoothly before the extreme weather conditions experienced during high winter/summer periods. This is done by scheduling regular maintenance for the entire system on an annual basis. If you have a combined system such as a heat pump, you may want to have twice annual maintenance to ensure nothing is missed.
